Weekly Gatherings
SnowFlower offers a mix of in-person, Zoom and hybrid (Zoom and in-person) gatherings. Each begins in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh with 20 minutes of sitting meditation, 10 minutes of walking meditation and 20 more minutes of sitting meditation. The Sunday child-friendly meeting follows a slightly different format.

A Few Reminders
If you have signed up for the listserv and need more information for a gathering, email questions@snowflower.org for a Zoom link.
To make the in-person gatherings run smoothly, we ask that you:
- Bring a cushion or blanket if it is most comfortable for your practice.
- Remove your shoes and enter the room with a pause and a bow.
- Quietly take a seat either on a chair or a floor cushion.
- Even if you cannot arrive on time or if you need to leave early, come anyway. Please take a place near the entrance and enter or leave the room quietly.
- Please help us care for fellow SnowFlowers by refraining from using scented products before coming to indoor Sangha gatherings. Some people are sensitive to scents that others can’t even detect. Besides perfumes and colognes, many soaps, lotions and dryer sheets can cause reactions.
- Please protect yourself and others and wear a mask (or do not attend in person) if you have concerns about Covid-19 or other respiratory diseases.
New to SnowFlower?
We invite newcomers to our monthly introductory sessions from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m. before the regular meditation gatherings.
- The first Tuesday (of odd months) introduction is only in person at the at the Friends Meeting House, 1704 Roberts Court, Madison, before the regular 7:00 p.m. meditation gathering. No registration is necessary.
- The first Friday (of even months) introduction is only on Zoom before the regular 7:00 p.m. meditation gatherings. You will need to join the sangha listserv to receive the Zoom link.
The sessions are listed on the calendar.
The introductory sessions are not required. They are an opportunity to learn more about SnowFlower, mindfulness and meditation and to ask any questions.
The first time you attend an in-person gathering (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Sundays), you can also arrive early to briefly visit with the leader and other practitioners about what to expect. If you have already practiced mindfulness and meditation with Snowflower, you may decide to attend an introduction later to learn more about the sangha and its tradition.
