Members of the sangha’s Open Hearts, Open Arms Project have expanded the existing diversity resources by adding diversity training and volunteer opportunities for sangha members. The diversity training lists groups that train individuals on diversity-related matters as well as web-based training resources. The volunteer opportunities are all in Madison which afford sangha members greater opportunities not only to reduce suffering, but also to work with members of our city’s minority population. Such contact can otherwise be rare given the housing and social separations of our city. Research shows the more we interact with minorities, the more we reduce our implicit biases.
If you are aware of other training resources or volunteer opportunities, please let us know (e-mail to questions@snowflower.org) and we can update our growing list.
